Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Westbury, New York. This role involves managing key financial processes, ensuring accurate reconciliations, and contributing to month-end closings. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise and a detail-oriented approach to support the organization's financial operations.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee and execute month-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.

- Reconcile accounts and bank statements to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, maintaining clear records and timely processing.

- Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting procedures and improve efficiency.

- Analyze financial data to identify trends and support decision-making.

- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

- Assist with audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.

- Monitor and maintain the accuracy of general ledger accounts.

- Provide support for ad hoc financial projects as needed. Requirements - Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.

- Strong proficiency in general ledger management and journal entries.

- Expertise in account and bank reconciliations with attention to detail.

- Solid understanding of accounts payable and receivable operations.

- Familiarity with accounting software and tools, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
