CAD Drafter About the Role

Join a growing and collaborative millwork team where your creativity and technical expertise directly shape custom-built environments. As a CAD Drafter, you'll work on a wide range of exciting projects-from residential homes to restaurants to retail build‑outs-helping bring design concepts to life with precision and craftsmanship.

In this role, you'll produce detailed technical drawings and 3D models that guide our millwork production team. You'll work closely with designers, engineers, and production staff to ensure every project meets our high standards for accuracy, quality, and feasibility.

What You'll Do

+ Create accurate technical drawings, shop drawings, and 3D models for custom millwork, casework, cabinetry, and fixtures using AutoCAD.

+ Collaborate with design and production teams to translate concepts into buildable solutions.

+ Review project specifications and ensure all drawings align with industry standards and production capabilities.

+ Prepare and revise shop drawings throughout the project lifecycle.

+ Assist in identifying materials and coordinating with vendors as required.

What You Bring

+ Proficiency with AutoCAD and strong technical drafting skills.

+

Experience with 3D modeling platforms such as Sketch Up or Solid Works.

+ Solid understanding of millwork, joinery, and woodworking techniques.

+ Ability to read, interpret, and produce architectural blueprints and detailed drawings.

+ Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.

+ Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.

Bonus Skills

+ Experience designing custom cabinetry, built‑ins, or furniture.

+ A degree or technical certification in architecture, engineering, industrial design, or a related field.

Work Environment

This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in the tri‑state area. You'll be part of an 8‑person design team working in a casual, creative environment with a production warehouse directly connected to the office-giving you real insight into how your drawings turn into finished products. The position reports directly to the VP of Millwork.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westbury, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
