Hiring Millwork Detailer For Retail Projects! About the Role

Join a collaborative millwork team where you'll help bring custom-built environments to life. As a Millwork Detailer, you'll support the creation of detailed drawings for residential, hospitality, and retail projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with foundational drafting skills who wants to grow in the millwork and custom fabrication industry. You'll work closely with experienced designers and production staff and receive hands-on training to advance your technical abilities.

What You'll Do

+ Produce and update technical drawings and basic shop drawings using AutoCAD.

+ Support design and production teams in transforming concepts into accurate, buildable plans.

+ Revise drawings based on feedback from detailers and project leads.

+ Learn to review project specifications, architectural drawings, and millwork standards.

+ Assist with material identification and basic vendor coordination when needed.

What You Bring

+ Basic proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software.

+ Interest in learning 3D modeling tools such as Sketch Up or Solid Works.

+ Curiosity about millwork, woodworking, or architectural drafting-no advanced experience required.

+ Ability to read simple drawings or willingness to learn.

+ Strong attention to detail and a collaborative, proactive attitude.

+ Drive to learn from designers and grow your technical skills.

Bonus Skills (Not Required)

+ Exposure to carpentry, cabinetry, furniture making, or drafting coursework.

+ A degree or technical certification in drafting, architecture, engineering, or a related field.

+ Experience (including school projects) involving cabinetry, furniture, or built‑in designs.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, on‑site role in the tri‑state area.

You'll join an eight‑person design team in a relaxed, hands‑on environment.

Our office is directly connected to our production warehouse, giving you the unique opportunity to see your drawings evolve into custom-built products.

You'll report to the VP of Millwork and receive ongoing guidance as you advance in your career.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westbury, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
