Entry-Level CAD Drafter

About the Role

Start your drafting career with a supportive and collaborative millwork team where you'll learn how custom-built environments come to life. As an Entry-Level CAD Drafter, you'll assist in creating drawings for a variety of projects-including residential homes, restaurants, and retail spaces.

This role is perfect for someone who has basic AutoCAD skills, enjoys problem‑solving, and wants hands‑on experience working with experienced designers and production staff. You'll receive guidance and training to help you grow into more advanced drafting responsibilities.

What You'll Do

* Assist in creating technical drawings and basic shop drawings using AutoCAD.

* Support the design and production teams in turning concepts into buildable plans.

* Update and revise drawings with direction from senior staff.

* Learn how to review project specifications and industry standards.

* Help with material identification and basic coordination with vendors when needed.

What You Bring

* Basic proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software.

* Familiarity with (or interest in learning) 3D modeling tools like Sketch Up or Solid Works.

* An interest in millwork, woodworking, or architectural drafting-no advanced experience required.

* Ability to read simple drawings or a willingness to learn how.

* Strong attention to detail and a collaborative attitude.

* Eagerness to learn from experienced designers and grow your skills.

Bonus Skills (Not Required)

* Any exposure to carpentry, cabinetry, drafting coursework, or related school projects.

* A degree or technical certification in drafting, architecture, engineering, or a related field.

* Experience (even class projects) working with cabinetry, furniture, or built‑ins.

Work Environment

This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in the tri‑state area. You'll join an 8‑person design team in a casual and hands‑on work environment. Our office is directly connected to our production warehouse, giving you a unique opportunity to see how your drawings become real products. You'll report directly to the VP of Millwork and receive ongoing support as you grow in your career.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westbury, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
