Duration: 1 year, temp to perm opportunity
The SMT Operator supports electronic manufacturing operations by setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining Surface Mount Technology equipment used in PCB assembly. This position works with screen printers, pick-and-place machines, and inspection equipment to ensure accurate component placement, consistent production, and high-quality finished assemblies.
ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and monitor SMT equipment, including screen printers and pick-and-place machines.
Perform machine changeovers and basic troubleshooting to minimize production downtime.
Ensure accurate solder paste application and electronic component placement according to specifications.
Inspect PCB assemblies for defects and verify that quality standards are met.
Monitor production equipment and identify process or equipment issues.
Work with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve manufacturing problems.
Clean and maintain SMT equipment to support reliable operation.
Follow ESD, safety, quality, and company procedures.
Complete required production documentation, including production data, equipment issues, and corrective actions.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years of experience in an SMT or electronics manufacturing environment preferred.
Hands-on experience operating SMT screen printers and pick-and-place equipment.
Basic knowledge of electronic components and PCB assembly processes.
Ability to read work instructions, assembly drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
SMT machine programming experience.
Experience operating Juki SMT equipment.
Experience with SPI (Solder Paste Inspection) and AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) systems.
Knowledge of IPC standards, including IPC-A-610.
Manufacturing and electronics production floor environment.
