Overview:

The Self-Direction Staff Coordinator (SHSS) is responsible for maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with all rules and regulations, and implementing policies and procedures related to staffing and daily operations. In this role, the SHSS Coordinator plays a key part in supervising staff and supporting the care and well-being of the individuals served.

What You Will Do:

  • Identify opportunities for supervision and retraining of all Self-Hired Staff within the Self-Direction Department.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring valued outcome goals for Self-Hire Community Habilitation, Self-Hire Respite, and Self-Hire SEMP.
  • Ensure Staff Action Plans are active and approved before staff begin their first shift.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions and committees to stay informed about changes and best practices.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to all emergencies related to the Self-Direction Program.
  • Coordinate new hire and annual mandatory trainings for all Self-Direction staff in collaboration with the HR Team and Assistant Director of the Self-Hired Workforce.
  • Manage staff enrollments and profiles in eVero.
  • Assist with reviewing and approving valued outcome data, transportation, and staff activity reimbursements.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with Medicaid billing requirements and regulations.
  • Work with the Assistant Director of Self-Hired Workforce to ensure documented shifts meet Medicaid EVV standards.
  • Actively participate in supervision and team meetings with the Self-Direction Team.
  • Communicate outstanding compliance needs (e.g., evaluations, EVV confirmations, vehicle tracking) to FIC and other necessary COS members.
  • Report any staff-related incidents to the QA Department and OPWDD’s IMU and ensure follow-up training for staff is completed as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and willingness to learn and utilize new electronic systems.
  • Valid New York State Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.

Work Hours/

Schedule:

Full-time, Monday – Friday, 10 AM – 6 PM with flexible scheduling options

Pay: $55,000/year

Paid Time Off:
