Help achieve sales and profit goals, monitor quality assurance standards, and supervise all meat department functions in the Meat Manager’s absence. • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, safety, and food safety regulations and company guidelines.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Communicate company, department, and job‑specific information to associates.
• Empower associates to meet or exceed targets through collaboration and teamwork.
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
• Help train and develop associates on job performance, including inventory, stocking, CAO, and participate in performance appraisals.
• Create an environment that welcomes customers, answers product questions, and offers suggestions.
• Demonstrate "Journeyman" Meat Cutter skills and cut to customer requests using proper cutting equipment.
• Inform customers of meat specials and offer product samples.
• Provide customers with correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Use the Cutting Tool to manage production and minimize shrink.
• Stay current on ads and educate associates on current, upcoming, and special in‑store promotions.
• Help maintain merchandising plan and standards.
• Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note any discrepancies.
• Ensure proper price integrity on shelf tags and promotional signs.
• Comply with all Country of Origin Labeling.
• Assist in the inventory process when needed.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and keep temperature logs.
• Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the Store Manager of items needing repair.
• Report all safety risks, incidents, customer or employee accidents, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
• Perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Management experience preferred.
• Meat experience.

• 18 years of age.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Current food handlers permit once employed.
• Adequate knife handling skills and speed.
