Job Title: Substitute Paraprofessional Location: District Class Title: On-Call Effective Date: (25-26 School Year) Salary Range: $16.52 per hour Hours per week: 7-35

Job Summary: Provide support to the educational process with specific focus on instructional and classroom assistance.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage student learning in accordance with the goals of the District.
  • Implement lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
  • Organize students for effective instruction.
  • Ensure the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
  • Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
  • Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
  • Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned by building administrator(s) in accordance with District policies and practices.
Qualifications:
  • Experience:
    • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
  • Education:
    • Substitute teacher assistant positions require of the following:

      Teacher Assistant Training Program Certification with Qualifying Para Pro Assessment test results
      OR
      Associates degree along with teacher assistant training certification
      OR
      Bachelors degree along with teacher assistant training certification

  • Physical Requirements:
    • Walk, climb stairs, bend and lift up to 45lbs.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must provide a current national background check without disqualifying results at time of hire.
