Anticipated Summer School Science Teacher: Summer School positions are dependent on Student enrollment.
General Statement: Provide support to the educational process with specific focus on instructional and mentoring practices. This includes maintaining a positive learning environment, where all students are encouraged to participate, ask questions and generally receive the individual attention they deserve to effectively learn the material in a lesson plan.
Responsibilities- Teaches content and skills in School Sciences.
- Manages student learning in accordance with the goals of the District.
- Implements lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
- Organizes students for effective instruction.
- Ensures adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
- Maintains and respects confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
- Complies with and supports school and District regulations and policies.
- Can follow oral and written directions and has the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
- Maintains effective classroom management strategies.
- Experience
- At least 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of web-based alternative learning programs is preferred.
- Education
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- Certification & Licensing
- Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
