Job Description:
Job Title: Summer School ELA Teacher
Grade Level: Middle School 5th – 8th
Schedule: July 6 – July 31, 2026; 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Pay Range: $3,000 stipend

Supervision Received: School Level Administration
General Statement: Provide support to the educational process focusing on instructional and mentoring practices. Maintain a positive learning environment encouraging student participation, questions, and individual attention.
- Teach English language, literature, composition, reading, and journalism using a standards‑based course of study provided by the English Department.
- Facilitate programs and monitor implementation of curriculum meeting all student needs.
- Follow standardized follow‑up plan to ensure best practices in the classroom.
- Collaborate closely with district, elementary, high school, and middle school administrators.
- Receive, distribute, and maintain inventory of books, supplies, and classroom equipment.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
Knowledge of web‑based alternative learning programs is preferred; at least 3 years of relevant experience preferred. - Education:
Bachelor’s degree. - Certification & Licensing:
Must meet current RI Department of Education requirements and/or certifications. - Authorized to work in the USA.
- Current national background check without disqualifying results at time of hire.
