  • Define, communicate, and uphold acceptable standards of student behavior and develop open communication, mutual respect, and rapport with students.
  • Communicate effectively with all constituents.
  • Fulfill time commitments and contribute to department‑sponsored community/enrichment activities.
  • Contribute to a positive collegial environment; collaborate with colleagues.
  • Strengthen skills and knowledge through reflection, feedback, workshops, seminars, and collegial sharing.
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality regarding all aspects of performance and attendance.
  • Establish a professional rapport with students and staff that commands their respect. Display the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students, parents, and school personnel.
  • Serve as a role model for students—dressing professionally, demonstrating the importance and relevance of learning, accepting responsibility, and demonstrating pride in the education profession.
  • Complete in a timely fashion all records and reports as requested by the principal and department head.
  • Communicate with the principal and department head regularly about the needs, successes and general operation of the program.
  • Use effective presentation skills when addressing students, staff, parents, and the community including appropriate vocabulary and examples, clear and legible visuals, and articulate and audible speech.
  • Perform any duties within the scope of employment and certifications, as assigned by the principal.
  • Maintain consistent communication with parents and guardians, seeking their partnership to support student success, and sharing both positive updates and concerns related to behavior, academics, and attendance.
  • Keep families informed about relevant programs, policies, procedures, and available resources that support student learning and well‑being.
  • Schedule and facilitate parent/student conferences as needed to address academic progress, attendance, behavior, or other concerns.
