- Per Diem Substitute Teacher: $125.00 per day the first year worked. After 100 days worked within 1 school year, increase pay based on the below salary schedule. Maximum pay is $150 per day which can be reached as early as the 4th year worked. Start each school year earning the last earned rate of pay.
- Long Term Substitute Teacher & Per Diem RI Certified/Retired Substitute Teacher: $150 per day the first year worked. After 100 days worked within 1 school year, increase pay.
Provide support to the educational process with specific focus on instructional and mentoring practices. This includes maintaining a positive learning environment, where all students are encouraged to participate, ask questions and generally receive the individual attention they deserve to effectively learn the material in a lesson plan.
Responsibilities:- Manage student learning in accordance with the goals of the District.
- Implement lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
- Organize students for effective instruction.
- Ensure the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
- Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
- Comply with and support school and District regulations and policies.
- Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
- Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
- Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned by building administrator(s) in accordance with District policies and practices.
- Experience:
3 years of relevant experience preferred. - Education:
Completed at least two years of higher education (minimum 60 college credits) or hold an Associate degree or hold a Bachelor's degree (in any major!).
