Position: PUBLIC SERVICES ASSOCIATE, PART-TIME

Westerly Library and Wilcox Park seeks a personable, public service-oriented individual to work in their busy Public Services Department. Duties include checking materials in and out, issuing new library cards, assisting patrons in locating books on our shelves and reserving books through interlibrary loans, answering phones, and shelving materials. Additional duties may include supervising volunteers, providing computer assistance to patrons, enforcing library policy, and assisting in other library departments as needed.

Must have excellent communication skills, ability to shelve books in proper alphabetical and numerical order, and possess mid-level computer skills.

Hours and Pay:

Starting rate is $18.00 per hour. 20 hours per week. Will be required to work some evenings and rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications:

Applicant must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience in customer service preferred. Experience working in a library a plus. Flexibility regarding scheduling a plus.
