General Statement: Provide support to the educational process with specific focus on instructional and mentoring practices. This includes maintaining a positive learning environment, where all students are encouraged to participate, ask questions and generally receive the individual attention they deserve to effectively learn the material in a lesson plan. Providing a foundation in Cosmetology acquainting high school students with the fundamentals of Cosmetology practices and the foundation for future study in Cosmetology related fields through engaging, hands-on curriculum, and encouraging the development of problem-solving skills, critical thinking and creative/innovative reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Manage student learning in accordance with the goals of the District.
• Implement lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
• Organize students for effective instruction.
• Ensure the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
• Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
• Comply with and support school and District regulations and policies.
• Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
• Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
  
  2 years of Secondary level teaching in Cosmetology is preferred.
• Education:
  
  Bachelor's degree required.
• Certification:
  Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
