Overview

Because of the unit coordinator/secretary's roles such as communication, requisitioning and management of supplies and equipment, the unit coordinator coordinates the activities of the nursing staff, the patient, the physician, other hospital departments and visitors. He/she performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience

Experience in a professional setting with customer service responsibility preferred.

Licensure

Certification by NAHUC (Nat Assoc of Health Unit Coordinators) encouraged.
