Independent Living Skills Trainer – Calm, Respectful Support with ABI Resources

As an Independent Living Skills Trainer (ILST), Recovery Assistant (RA), Companion, Direct Support Professional (DSP), or Personal Care Assistant (PCA), you will be a crucial part of our team, offering calm, consistent care while fostering understanding and growth. Your role is to guide clients with empathy and help them navigate challenges, providing the stability they need.

• Consistent Support:
  Provide calm, reliable assistance with daily tasks, supporting clients’ structure and progress.
• Professional Friendship:
  Build supportive relationships without control, empowering clients with emotional and practical support.
• Daily Living Assistance:
  Assist with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean, organized living environment.
• Health and Wellness Management:
  Help clients manage medical appointments and encourage physical and social activity.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience:
  
  Ideally 2‑3 years in disability care; compassion and an understanding approach are most important.
• Requirements: A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of insurance, and a reference from a personal or professional contact.
• Age:
  Must be at least 18 years old.
