Ocean House Management – Butler

The Ocean House Butler delivers tailored services and amenities to guests, ensuring a sophisticated and attentive experience. Responsibilities include managing room readiness, guest requests, coordination with housekeeping and other departments, and providing exceptional service.

All hourly team members may be asked to work extended shifts, including weekends and holidays, to support business demands.

Reports to:

Butler Manager

• Act as gatekeeper for room preparedness and guest requests, including room cleanliness, minibar restocking, and special deliveries.
• Facilitate garment pressing, footwear service, and daily room refreshing.
• Supervise housekeeping staff and coordinate timing for occupied guestrooms.
• Maintain inventory of minibar items and coordinate refilling.
• Meet arriving guests at the bedroom, offer orientation of butler services, and provide welcome amenities.
• Anticipate and fulfill guest requests, communicating with departments and using the Alice system.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area, orderly stocking, and confidentiality of guest information.
• Coordinate administrative functions and transfer information to incoming staff.
• Handle guest service opportunities promptly and log into Alice.
• Follow all policies and procedures, uphold company standards, and assist guests with laundry, dry cleaning, and other duties.
• Represent the company positively and adhere to sustainability guidelines.
• Perform any other duties consistent with the role’s scope.

• Fluency in English.
• Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy under pressure.
• Ability to manage tasks, prioritize, and work cohesively in a team.
• Maintain confidentiality of guest and employee information.
• Age 18 or older.
• Strong communication and people skills.
• Flexible schedule with ability to work late evenings.
• Multitasking ability in fast‑paced environment.
• Knowledge of flowers, wine, and fine foods preferred.
• Ability to speak a language other than English (preferably French, Italian, or Spanish).

Medium physical work, willing to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, speaking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Work conducted inside and outside environments with no extreme heat or cold exposure required.
