Activities Attendant
The Activities Attendant is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences through a variety of recreational and leisure activities at Weekapaug Inn. This role requires a passion for hospitality, outdoor recreation, and guest engagement, ensuring that all programs align with the Inn's luxury standards and Forbes Five-Star service expectations.
All employees are kindly asked to understand that the property operation is 24 hours a day 7 days a week, inclusive of all holidays. While the company will make every attempt to create a work and life balance, all hourly paid team members may be asked to work extended shifts and additional days based on business demands. The busiest of days during the season (Memorial Day through Columbus Day) are the weekend days from Friday thru Sunday and on holiday weekends that are celebrated on Mondays, this can include Mondays.
All seasonal staff must be aware and able to work all weekends; requesting time off for a holiday weekend may not and will likely not be granted. The more flexible you are the more you can learn, grow, earn.
Internal:
Reports directly to Naturalist Manager
- Guest Engagement: Provide warm, personalized interactions to enhance guest satisfaction and encourage participation in activities.
- Program Execution: Facilitate and oversee scheduled activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding, nature walks, birdwatching, fishing, crabbing, and family-friendly events such as s'mores and Camp Weekapaug, our outdoor lessons geared toward children.
- Equipment Management: Maintain and organize recreational equipment, ensuring all items are in pristine condition and meet safety standards.
- Safety & Risk Management: Monitor guest participation to ensure compliance with safety guidelines, and respond promptly to any issues or emergencies.
- Luxury Experience Curation: Anticipate guest preferences and tailor activities to provide exclusive, high-end experiences.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including the Front Desk and Food & Beverage teams, to coordinate customized guest experiences.
- Event Support: Assist in executing seasonal events, private excursions, and exclusive VIP experiences.
- Environmental Stewardship: Educate guests about the local ecosystem and sustainability efforts within the Inn's nature programs.
- Reporting & Feedback: Provide daily activity reports and guest feedback to the Activities Manager for continuous improvement.
Responsible for practicing, managing, and promoting the Company's Statement of Purpose, Service Excellence Pillars, and Declarations so that it becomes an intricate part of the everyday operation.
Represent the Company with a positive attitude and professional presentation.
Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to the Company's sustainability programs.
Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the role.
Required Job Knowledge and Skills- Previous experience in hospitality, recreation, or guest services preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for guest engagement
- Ability to swim and knowledge of water safety practices
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of the local environment, wildlife, and outdoor recreation is a plus
- Fluency in English both verbally and in writing
- Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy under pressure of tense/confrontational situations
- Uphold the Company standards, policies, and procedures
- Prioritize and organize tasks and work area
- Ability to remain calm and resolve problems using good judgement as interpreted by the management

- A background in hospitality, recreation, or outdoor activities within a luxury setting is highly desirable
- Exceptional communication skills with an innate ability to engage and anticipate guest needs
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities, ensuring seamless guest experiences
- Professional certification in outdoor recreation, lifeguarding, or adventure tourism is an advantage
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest service standards
- Multitasking ability in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment
- Strong appreciation for nature, wellness, and regional history to enhance guest activities
