Essential Job Functions
Assist store manager in sales, appearance, and overall operations of the store. Prepare for a future management position.
- Supervise professional and retail operations of store and team members, including delivery and installer service specialists and parts and merchandising specialists.
- Work jointly with district manager and store manager in recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging team members.
- Communicate information from Team Weekly and monthly store manager meetings to all team members.
- Train new team members and conduct performance evaluations, recommending pay increases.
- Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to select qualified members.
- Support the store manager with safety compliance, ensuring all team members receive appropriate training, and monitor safety expectations.
- Make sales calls with or without the store manager and may be assigned a schedule for weekly customer calls.
- Maintain the delivery fleet and keep records for each vehicle.
- Use electronic scheduling, clocking, and payroll systems, and manage gross profit components.
- Monitor professional customer returns for core and warranty abuse.
- Review competitive price matches and price overrides for proper use.
- Review individual team member productivity and KPI dashboard daily.
- Review monthly P&L statements with the store manager and discuss areas of opportunity.
Required:
- High School Diploma.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Completion of Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program.
- Ability to read and match numerical/alpha characters quickly and accurately.
- Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment, and systems.
Desired:
- Experience at an O’Reilly store and/or distribution center.
- Completed O’Reilly management training program.
- Advanced computer skills.
- A.S.E. Certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
