Summary of primary duties and responsibilities
Responsible for threading a knitting machine that weaves textiles. Your role is to thread fine yarn through the machine using a pattern. The threading is complex but the final product is beautiful. The position requires accurate eye‑hand coordination and requires constant standing. Follow standard safety and housekeeping practices. You will learn a specialized skill and this position is a great stepping stone for your career with Darlington Fabrics.
Ample training will be provided.
2nd shift – 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (Shift premium of $0.75)
3rd shift – 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM (Shift premium of $1.20)
Up to $26.38 per hour, plus shift differential.
Qualifications and RequirementsMust be able to read, write and do simple arithmetic. Requires continuous mental/visual attention and alertness including good hand/eye coordination. Requires stretching to draw ends into guide bars and put ends into needle bars; requires reaching overhead for broken ends. Requires frequent physical activity to include lifting moderately heavy material. Standing and walking on cement floors for long periods during patrolling, fixing broken ends and threading.
Requires short cycle work with continuous activity. Requires good manual dexterity. Vision should be correctable to 20/20.
