Senior CNC Machinist
Trillium is seeking a Senior CNC Machinist in Westerly!
This Direct-Hire opportunity seeks an experienced CNC Machinist with 5+ years of hands-on machining experience who can perform full setups, interpret G-code, and operate large-format CNC machining centers.
As the Senior CNC Machinist, you will take on precision, one-of-a-kind machining projects using advanced bridge mills and multitasking turning centers. Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate large CNC machining centers, including Nicholas Correa Fenix, Nicholas Correa Norma, and the Okuma Mac Turn 550
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, blueprints, GD&T, and G-code while making minor program adjustments
- Determine tooling, fixtures, work holding, and machining sequences for one-off, prototype, and low-volume parts
- Perform first article inspections using micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, calipers, and other precision tools
- Troubleshoot machining issues such as chatter, vibration, thermal growth, and dimensional variation
- Maintain machine condition through routine preventative maintenance and support engineering on machining strategy and manufacturability
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Skills:
- Ability to perform complete CNC machine setups independently and adjust G-code as needed
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting skills for tight-tolerance, large-format machining
- Skilled in reading and interpreting complex engineering documentation including drawings, CAD models, blueprints, and GD&T
- Familiarity with Fanuc or Heidenhain controls; experience machining large weldments or complex machine components preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment
- Experience with one-off, prototype, or custom machinery components is a plus
- Preferred machine experience includes Nicholas Correa Fenix, Nicholas Correa Norma, Okuma Mac Turn 550, Mazak INTEGREX, DMG MORI NTX/CTX TC, Doosan PUMA SMX, Nakamura-Tome MX/WY Series, INDEX G-Series/R-Series, Soraluce FL/FP/FX/TA, SHW Uni Force/Power Speed, Zimmermann FZ Series, Zayer Kairos/Arion, JUARISTI MX/MP, PAMA Speedram, FPT Dino/Ronin/Spirit
Schedule:
1st Shift / Monday – Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM – Summer hours / 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM – Winter hours
Rate:
-$35 to $40 per hour DOE
Additional Requirements:
Must pass a drug test, background check, and a physical to be hired
