Nurse Residency - RN at Yale New Haven Health summary:

This Nurse Residency RN position involves providing individualized, goal-directed nursing care under nurse manager supervision while adhering to hospital policies. The role includes patient assessment, documentation, acting as a clinical resource, and participating in staff training and teamwork. Required qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing school, state licensure, and BLS certification, with preferred experience in medical-surgical, pediatrics, or telemetry nursing.

Responsibilities
  • Assesses the patient's physical and psychological condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care. Documents appropriately the information obtained from the ongoing assessment. Shares significant assessment data with the appropriate discipline.
  • Adheres to the Westerly Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Acts as a clinical resource and role model.
  • Actively participates in train and educational activities for other staff members.
  • Demonstrates a high level of respect, dignity, compassion and professionalism for all customers by utilizing the four tenets of Patient Family and Centered Partnership.
  • Recognizes and values the contributions of fellow employees and displays cooperation and teamwork.
  • Reports to work on time, prepared to work and follows hospital policies for notice of lateness/absenteeism and time off requests.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Medical-surgical nursing, pediatrics, telemetry experience preferred.
  • Current state registration. BLS required. ACLS optional. PALS within one year of hire.
