Overview

Under the direction of the nurse manager, the nurse manages individualized, goal‑directed nursing care through the use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing, in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities- Essential Functions
- Assesses the patient’s physical and psychological condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care. Documents the information obtained from the ongoing assessment and shares significant assessment data with the appropriate discipline.

- Acts as a clinical resource and role model.

- Actively participates in training and educational activities for other staff members.
- Customer Service
- Demonstrates a high level of respect, dignity, compassion, and professionalism for all customers by utilizing the four tenets of Patient Family and Centered Partnership.
- Employee Collaboration and Teamwork
- Recognizes and values the contributions of fellow employees and displays cooperation and teamwork.
- Resource Utilization
- Reports to work on time, prepared, and follows hospital policies for notice of lateness/absenteeism and time off requests.
- List core competency
- List duty/task determining competency.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. - Experience:
1‑3 years of critical care nursing required. - Licensure
- Current State Registration.
- BLS required.
- ACLS required.
- CCRN preferred.
