Performs in a security department providing security for all hospital functions.

Responsibilities- Acts as a security officer, wearing issued uniform and equipment properly.
- Maintains a public presence of security and interacts with the public in a positive manner, responding to requests and providing general guidance on security and access issues.
- Performs Dispatch Officer duties.
- Performs Charge Officer duties.
- Responds to all incidents involving aggressive patients, visitors, and staff, properly utilizing defensive resources in accordance with the Hospital Use of Force Policy.
- Follows all hospital rules, regulations, and SOP for restraint application and commitment against will situations.
- Attends all required safety training programs, demonstrating competency in general safety, departmental safety, and specific job‑related hazards.
- Follows the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens, demonstrating knowledge of protective barrier equipment techniques and procedures.
- Demonstrates respect and consideration for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and employees, ensuring a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
- Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter‑ and intra‑departmentally to facilitate achieving departmental goals and objectives.
Education: High School Graduate or GED required.
Experience: Previous law enforcement, military, dispatching, or security experience preferred.
Licensure: CPI, MOAB, Defensive Resources (Baton, Handcuffing, and OC Foam), and Restraint Certification must be obtained within 6 months. Valid driver’s license is required.
Special SkillsFamiliarity with Microsoft Office products and competency with computer skills, multitasking, and dispatching.
