Position Summary
Trillium is seeking Traveling Service Technicians in Westerly! This Direct-Hire opportunity seeks experienced Machine Assembly, Service, and Repair professionals who can work across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. You’ll assemble industrial machinery, support installations, troubleshoot across multiple disciplines, perform acceptance testing, and train operators at customer sites. If you enjoy working hands‑on with complex equipment and love to travel, this role offers strong pay plus a 30% boost during your 30%-50% field service travel assignments.
Responsibilities- Assemble machinery and major subassemblies using blueprints, schematics, and specifications, including drilling, tapping, aligning, and securing components
- Install and connect mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems such as shafts, bearings, hoses, wiring, conduit, and control enclosures
- Power up equipment and verify proper operation of motors, drives, logic controls, and HMI functions
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and performance issues during assembly and field service
- Support domestic and international installations, supervise rigging crews, coordinate licensed contractors, and complete acceptance testing
- Train operators on safe setup, operation, and basic maintenance while documenting all work in detailed service reports
Schedule is 1st Shift / Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM (Summer hours) and 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (Winter hours). Pay rate is $30.00 to $38.00 per hour DOE with a 30% hourly pay increase applied during field service travel.
Qualifications- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics with accuracy
- Strong mechanical assembly and troubleshooting skills across multiple systems; work comparable to rebuilding an engine and understanding the full electrical system
- Electrical wiring and control knowledge for safe and correct machine connections
- PLC and control system understanding, including basic programming, ladder logic interpretation, and system behavior
- Mechanical knowledge including installing, aligning, and servicing bearings and gears
- Clear, effective communication with customers and internal teams
- Practical math skills for fractions, percentages, ratios, and basic geometry
- Associate degree preferred, but candidates with 6 months to 1 year of related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and hands‑on experience, will be considered
- Prior machinery assembly, field service, or industrial equipment background preferred
