Position Summary:

The Youth and Young Adult Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the parish's youth ministry programs. This role involves engaging and mentoring young people on their faith journey, creating a supportive and welcoming environment, and fostering their spiritual growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement youth ministry programs and activities that align with the church’s mission and values as part of the overall Lifelong plan of the parish.
  • Organize and lead/co-lead retreats, service projects, pilgrimage, and social events to promote community and spiritual growth as part of the Lifelong Formation Team.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all youth.
  • Organize and lead monthly High School Formation Gatherings in collaboration with the Lifelong Formation Team.
  • Develop transitional events for 8th graders going into high school.
  • Collaborate and engage with the regional Young Adult Frassati Fellowship.
  • Provide guidance and support to youth in their spiritual and personal development.
  • Work closely with parents, parish staff, and volunteers to promote youth programs.
  • Maintain current programs and grow new youth sports programs.
  • Collaborate with other ministries to integrate youth into the broader church community.
  • Develop communication strategies to engage youth and their families in conjunction with the Director of Lifelong Formation.
  • Utilize social media and other platforms to promote events and share information.
  • Maintain accurate records and analysis of participation and program effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • A strong faith and commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Previous experience in youth ministry or related fields with a heart for high school youth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
  • A bachelor's degree in theology, Religious Studies, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field is preferred but not required.
