Construction Manager/ Foreman, Site Manager, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Superintendent - Commercial, Mixed Use Construction Westerville, OH Full-Time On-Site

Position OverviewThe Construction Superintendent will lead and manage on-site construction operations to deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget and to specified quality standards. This role is the primary field lead responsible for site supervision, schedule and cost control, subcontractor coordination, QA/QC, safety compliance, MEP and structural coordination, permitting and inspections, and client/stakeholder communications. The Superintendent will leverage industry-standard software and construction best practices to mitigate risk, manage change orders, and ensure successful commissioning and project closeout.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daily on-site leadership and supervision of all construction activities, crews, and subcontractors to ensure work is executed safely, to quality standards, and per contract documents.
- Develop, maintain and execute project schedules (CPM), coordinate updates using MS Project and/or Primavera P6, and drive activities to meet milestone and final completion dates.
- Monitor and control project budget and costs; identify cost saving opportunities, manage change orders, and support forecasting and reporting to project management.
- Manage subcontractor performance, scopes of work, progress, and coordination meetings; enforce contract requirements and site rules.
- Direct QA/QC processes including review of shop drawings, RFIs, punchlists, material testing, and documentation to ensure work meets project specifications and code requirements.
- Implement and enforce safety programs and site-specific safety plans; ensure OSHA 10/30 compliance, conduct toolbox talks and incident investigations.
- Coordinate MEP installation, structural systems, concrete formwork and placement, carpentry, commissioning, and handover activities with trades and engineering teams.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive field documentation: daily reports, photos, progress logs, submittals, RFI responses, and as-built records using Procore, Plan Grid, Bluebeam or equivalent.
- Plan and coordinate heavy equipment usage, crane/lift plans, temporary works/shoring, and site logistics to maintain productivity and safety.
- Manage procurement and materials flow, staging, and inventory control to align deliveries with site needs and reduce costs and rework.
- Secure permits, schedule and accompany inspections, and ensure code compliance (IBC, NEC, and applicable local codes) throughout construction.
- Lead coordination with BIM/Revit/Navisworks workflows, review clash detection results, and integrate field conditions into models as needed.
- Identify, assess and mitigate project risks; implement lean construction practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Coordinate client and stakeholder communications, site visits, and progress meetings; support project management in presenting status and resolution plans.
- Oversee project closeout activities including final inspections, punchlist resolution, commissioning support, turnover documentation and warranties.
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive on-site construction experience as a Superintendent or Lead Foreman on commercial, industrial or institutional projects.
- Proven experience with site supervision, CPM scheduling, MS Project and/or Primavera P6, and schedule management.
- Strong budgeting and cost control skills with experience in change order management and subcontractor management.
- Demonstrated QA/QC knowledge including shop drawings, RFIs, punchlist management, material testing and commissioning.
- Proficient with construction management and drawing review software:
Procore, Bluebeam, Plan Grid, AutoCAD, and familiarity with BIM/Revit/Navisworks. - Safety-focused with OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification, experience developing and enforcing site safety programs and managing heavy equipment, crane/lift plan coordination and temporary works/shoring.
- Solid understanding of MEP coordination, structural systems, concrete formwork & placement, carpentry and commissioning processes.
- Experience with permitting processes, inspections, code compliance (IBC, NEC and local codes), environmental compliance and erosion control.
- Skilled in field documentation, daily reporting, cost estimating and quantity takeoffs, procurement and materials management.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to lead diverse crews, resolve conflicts and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
- Valid drivers license, ability to work in the field in varying weather conditions and travel to project sites as required; ability to pass background and drug screening as part of hiring process.
