Head Of School Opportunity At Northside Christian School

Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Northside Christian School in Westerville, Ohio as they search for their next Head of School. Northside Christian School was founded in 1971, and operates as an extension of Calvary Bible Church. Over the decades, Northside has grown from modest beginnings into a respected, enduring K-12 institution. A growing school, led by the mission "learn, love, and live like Christ," NCS serves approximately 250 students across grades K-12.

The school's core values are quality education, redeemed professional faculty, Christian environment, and grace-filled discipleship, with families representing a cross-section of the greater Columbus area who value a distinctly Christian education marked by relational care, small class environments, and a mission-centered approach to learning.

The Head of School role at Northside Christian School in Westerville, OH represents a pivotal evolution in the life of a beloved, multi-generational institution. Northside is ready for a leader who can honor its deeply relational DNA while advancing its mission with clarity, courage, and strategic discipline. This role will require a unique blend of spiritual authority, executive acumen, and relational presence.

The next Head of School will inherit a community marked by loyalty, prayerfulness, and a rich legacy of Christian formation, yet also one that is eager for organizational coherence, renewed direction, and a leader who can bring modern educational leadership practices into alignment with the school's founding convictions.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A Systems-Driven Executive Leader Who Can Build Organizational Structures
  • A Resilient Culture Curator Who Leads with Character, Conviction, and Courage
  • A Steadying Presence with Emotional, Relational, and Spiritual Authority
  • A Visionary Guide Who Can Realign from Maintenance to Sustainable Growth
  • A Cultivator of Mission-Centric Community, Leadership, and Excellence

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position carries both the weight and privilege of shaping the next era of growth for Northside. The new leader will be entrusted with helping refine governance structures, strengthening cross-department collaboration, mentoring a devoted faculty, and cultivating a mission-driven culture that is intentionally taught and consistently lived. They will have the rare opportunity to build on decades of faithfulness, restore healthy leadership rhythms, bring clarity to complex systems, and establish a sustainable executive structure that equips Northside not just for the next five years, but for the next fifty.

This is a calling ideally suited for a leader who thrives at the intersection of spiritual formation, institutional development, and visionary leadership.
