Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer will support a custom equipment assembly operation by improving manufacturing processes, driving quality and safety initiatives, developing training systems, and leading continuous improvement efforts across the shop floor. This role offers hands-on impact across manufacturing operations and close collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Improve assembly processes, workflow, and overall shop floor efficiency to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Develop, standardize, and maintain clear work instructions, procedures, and training materials for production activities.
  • Support and lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, including process engineering and process improvement projects.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and tool calibration programs to ensure reliability, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and lead corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Create, implement, and manage testing plans and quality documentation to support consistent product performance and traceability.
  • Develop employee skills matrices and structured training programs to build capabilities and support cross-training on the shop floor.
  • Serve as Safety Coordinator by supporting safety programs, promoting safe work practices, and helping maintain compliance with safety requirements.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to resolve production challenges and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Contribute to ERP system development and usage to support manufacturing workflows and data accuracy.

Essential

Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail with proven problem-solving skills.
  • Experience creating documentation, work instructions, and standardized procedures.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes, manufacturing engineering, and process engineering.
  • Exp. in process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with ERP systems, including ERP system development (Acumatica or similar).

Additional Skills &

Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing engineering experience in custom machinery, capital equipment, or engineered-to-order environments.
  • Exposure to quality systems, calibration programs, and corrective action processes.
  • Experience developing training programs and skills matrices for production teams.
  • ERP experience with Acumatica or comparable systems.
  • Food and beverage industry manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of custom equipment and custom machinery assembly operations.

This role is based in Westerville, OH within a custom equipment assembly operation that offers hands-on involvement on the shop floor and direct impact on manufacturing processes. Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $48.08/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
