Columbus Worthington Air is hiring a Lead HVAC Installer to supervise residential and light commercial installations across central Ohio. In this role, you'll lead a crew installing furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, and indoor air quality systems according to code and manufacturer specs. Responsibilities include job layout, brazing and piping, start-up and commissioning, troubleshooting install issues, and ensuring safety and quality standards.

You'll train apprentices, interact professionally with customers, complete accurate documentation, and support a culture of integrity, teamwork, and continuous technical development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead installation of residential and light commercial HVAC systems
  • Lay out, assemble, and install ductwork, piping, and refrigerant lines
  • Perform equipment start-up, testing, and commissioning
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, safety standards, and manufacturer specifications
  • Diagnose and correct installation-related performance issues
  • Train and mentor junior installers and apprentices
  • Communicate professionally with customers on scope and operation of systems
  • Maintain accurate job records, forms, and installation documentation
  • Coordinate with dispatch, sales, and warehouse teams to prepare jobs
  • Uphold company standards for cleanliness, courtesy, and on-site safety
