Project Engineer
Job Description
The Project Engineer supports a high volume of engineering projects, typically managing 15-20 active initiatives s role combines project coordination, manufacturing engineering, and direct customer interaction to ensure projects move forward on schedule. The Project Engineer drives new technical processes, supports production on the floor, and contributes to continuous process improvement while playing a key role in quoting, sourcing, and technical problem solving within a small, family-oriented company environment.
Responsibilities
+ Manage and support 15-20 active engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring each project stays on schedule and meets quality expectations.
+ Coordinate project activities across engineering, production, and other internal teams to maintain smooth execution and timely delivery.
+ Collaborate with customers to understand technical requirements, provide updates, and address questions or concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
+ Develop, refine, and implement new technical processes that improve production efficiency and product quality.
+ Provide hands-on support on the production floor, assisting with process improvement initiatives and resolving day-to-day technical issues.
+ Lead or support quoting activities by reviewing technical requirements, estimating effort, and contributing to accurate and competitive proposals.
+ Participate in sourcing efforts by working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify appropriate materials, components, and services.
+ Troubleshoot technical problems in both engineering design and manufacturing processes, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
+ Apply principles of mechanical and/or electrical engineering to support project engineering tasks and ensure technical feasibility.
+ Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to handle multiple concurrent projects without compromising quality or deadlines.
Essential Skills
+ Engineering or Engineering Technology degree; associate degree will be considered.
+ 2-3 years of applicable internship experience in engineering, project engineering, or a closely related field.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage 15-20 projects at a time with strong time management and organizational skills.
+ Experience in project management within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
+ Foundational knowledge in electrical engineering and/or mechanical engineering.
+ Hands-on experience or exposure to project engineering and manufacturing engineering activities.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
+ Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, production staff, and cross-functional teams.
+ Ability to work as a people-oriented problem solver, building rapport and collaborating effectively with others.

Work Environment
This position operates in a small, family-owned company environment with a close-knit, collaborative culture. The role follows a typical schedule of approximately 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., providing a stable daytime work pattern. The Project Engineer spends time both in an office setting and on the production floor, working closely with manufacturing teams and engaging directly with technical processes and equipment.
The environment emphasizes hands-on involvement, open communication, and teamwork to keep a high volume of projects moving efficiently and effectively.

This is a Permanent position based out of Westfield, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
