Job Description
The Project Engineer supports a high volume of 15-20 active engineering projects at a time, helping to drive new technical processes, support production, and keep all projects on schedule. This role blends project coordination, manufacturing engineering, and direct customer interaction, with a strong focus on process improvement, floor support, and technical problem solving. The position offers the opportunity to work in a close-knit, family-owned environment where you can see the impact of your work across the organization.
Responsibilities
+ Manage and support 15-20 active engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring they stay on schedule and meet technical requirements.
+ Coordinate project activities across engineering, production, and other internal teams to maintain clear communication and alignment.
+ Provide hands-on manufacturing engineering support on the production floor, addressing day-to-day technical and process-related issues.
+ Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and reliability in production operations.
+ Collaborate with customers to understand technical needs, clarify requirements, and provide responsive support throughout the project lifecycle.
+ Lead or support quoting activities by reviewing technical information and contributing to accurate cost and time estimates.
+ Assist with sourcing efforts by evaluating technical requirements and supporting the selection of appropriate materials, components, and suppliers.
+ Troubleshoot technical problems as they arise, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
+ Apply project management and time management skills to prioritize tasks and balance competing project demands.
+ Document relevant project information, technical changes, and process updates to support traceability and continuous improvement.
Essential Skills
+ Engineering or Engineering Technology degree; associate degree in a related engineering field will be considered.
+ 2-3 years of applicable internship experience in an engineering, project engineering, or related technical environment.
+ Strong time management skills with the ability to manage 15-20 projects at a time.
+ Experience or knowledge in project management principles and practices.
+ Background or exposure in electrical engineering and/or mechanical engineering.
+ Hands-on project engineering experience or internship exposure supporting production or manufacturing operations.
+ Proven troubleshooting abilities to resolve technical and process-related issues.
+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a people-oriented problem solver.
+ Ability to interact effectively with customers, production personnel, and cross-functional teams.

Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in manufacturing engineering or production floor support is a plus.
+ Demonstrated ability to contribute to process improvement initiatives.
+ Comfort working in a high-volume, fast-paced project environment.
+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical information clearly to various stakeholders.
+ Ability to handle quoting and sourcing tasks, including reviewing technical details and supporting supplier selection.
Work Environment
This role operates in a small, family-owned company environment where collaboration and close working relationships are highly valued. Typical hours are approximately 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with some flexibility to accommodate personal and business needs. The Project Engineer spends time both in an office setting managing projects and documentation, and on the production floor providing hands-on support and process improvement.
The work environment supports direct interaction with production staff and customers, offering a dynamic setting where you can see the immediate impact of your engineering contributions.

This is a Permanent position based out of Westfield, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
