The Commercial Lender is a full‑time, on‑site role located in Fishers, IN, responsible for originating, structuring, and managing commercial loan relationships. Day‑to‑day tasks include meeting with business clients, assessing borrowing needs, analyzing financial statements, and preparing loan proposals that align with bank policies and risk guidelines. The role also involves underwriting commercial loans, coordinating SBA loan requests, overseeing loan closings, and monitoring portfolio performance.
The Commercial Lender will provide ongoing customer service, resolve client inquiries, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely loan processing and high-quality client experience. This position requires proactive business development, including networking in the local market and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Candidates should possess strong Finance skills, including the ability to analyze financial statements and assess credit risk.
- Candidates should possess Loans experience, including commercial lending processes and portfolio management.
- Candidates should possess Underwriting skills, with knowledge of credit analysis, risk assessment, and regulatory guidelines.
- Candidates should possess SBA‑related skills, including familiarity with SBA loan programs, documentation, and compliance.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service skills, with a focus on relationship management, communication, and problem‑solving.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven experience in commercial lending or business banking within a regulated financial institution.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple loan requests and deadlines.
- Knowledge of local market dynamics and the ability to develop new business through networking and community involvement.
