Position Summary
This is a full‑time, entry‑level position with a benefit package available. The role assists staff at Westfield High School managing technology infrastructure and devices under the direction of the Technology Director.
Typical Physical DemandsThe employee regularly sits or stands, uses hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, walks, reaches, climbs a step ladder, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception as well as focus adjustment.
Examples of Duties Essential Functions- Maintain basic knowledge of all device operating systems used within the building.
- Provide support services to establish and maintain appropriate software and hardware for the district.
- Perform base level and some mid‑range repair, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and maintenance of all computer systems and peripheral components within the district, escalating as needed.
- Assist with design, selection, setup, and installation of additional computer systems or peripherals to be acquired by the district.
- Assist with required record keeping, including maintenance logs and hardware and software inventories.
- Maintain helpdesk database and follow up on pending tickets to ensure timely completion.
- Provide hardware and software support for building media centers, labs, and classrooms.
- Maintain and monitor access of all building printers and copiers.
- Collaborate with Technology Services Group (TSG) to ensure highest quality customer service to internal users.
- Communicate professionally and effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Assist with all computer equipment moves, additions, and changes.
- Provide software training to end users.
- Perform annual maintenance on all computer equipment.
- Other duties as assigned by Assistant Principal and Technology Director.
Outstanding knowledge of computer operating systems, technology standards, and software. Strong interpersonal skills are as important as technical ability. Ability to communicate professionally with staff and work independently with accuracy and speed.
EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience1 year of experience with Information Technology preferred.
Certificate/LicenseA+ Certification preferred.
