Utilities Supervisor – 1st Shift

Reports to: Maintenance & Utilities Manager

Classification: Exempt

The Utilities Supervisor leads the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the plant’s utilities, focusing on ammonia refrigeration systems supporting poultry further processing.

• Lead, schedule, and develop multi‑shift utility crews; coach technicians and conduct performance feedback.
• Own daily operation, monitoring, and optimization of ammonia refrigeration systems; ensure compliance with IIAR standards and lead preventive maintenance programs.
• Oversee water systems, steam boiler systems, and air compressor operations; coordinate testing, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain hydraulic systems and material handling equipment; manage utilities‑related maintenance for forklifts, pallet jacks, and racking systems.
• Use CMMS to plan and schedule PMs, track work orders, and drive reliability improvement projects.

• 5+ years in industrial utilities or refrigeration in food manufacturing; poultry or further processing preferred.
• 2+ years in supervisory capacity overseeing multi‑shift teams.
• Hands‑on ammonia refrigeration experience; knowledge of IIAR standards and OSHA PSM requirements.
• Proficient with HAZMAT operations and emergency response protocols.
• Experience with water systems, steam boilers, hydraulic systems, and material handling equipment.
• Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
• Experience using a CMMS system.

• PSM/RMP training.
• HAZWOPER and incident command exposure.
• Ability to wear APR and or SCBA.

This position supervises 30 utilities team members.

Hours:

Flexible daytime hours with weekend support.

Travel:
Less than 5% for potential training.
