The Occupational Health Nurse II provides comprehensive occupational health services to employees at the site, including first aid response, injury and illness management, health screenings, medical surveillance, and workplace health programs. This role partners closely with Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S), Human Resources, managers, supervisors, and employees to promote a safe and healthy work environment while supporting injury prevention and return-to-work initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide on-site occupational health services, including first aid treatment and emergency medical response.
- Assess, treat, and manage employee workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Coordinate workers’ compensation cases, including documentation, follow-up care, and return-to-work processes.
- Manage occupational health programs, medical surveillance activities, and employee health screenings.
- Conduct vision/eye exams and other required health assessments.
- Maintain accurate medical records, logs, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Manage occupational health supplies, equipment, and inventory.
- Support corporate occupational health and safety programs and initiatives.
- Conduct employee health and safety training as required.
- Participate in emergency response teams and site safety committees.
- Collaborate with EH&S and HR teams to improve workplace health practices.
- Work closely with site employees, managers, and supervisors to address health-related concerns.
- Support initiatives to reduce workers’ compensation costs through effective case management, injury prevention, and wellness programs.
- Active RN license.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent.
- 2–4 years of nursing experience, preferably in occupational health or an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing employee injuries and medical emergencies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees across all levels of an organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field required
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
