WHS is seeking a qualified candidate to run workouts in the WHS weight room/gym three days a week from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM from Monday April 28, 2026 through Friday June 6, 2026. This six week program will provide WHS students with an opportunity to participate in an open weight room/gym session with a qualified instructor. Workouts can be casual in nature, but can also be organized by the qualified candidate.

B. No benefits.

Coaching position is dependent upon student enrollment.

• Run workouts in weight room/gym three days a week.
• Organize and supervise sessions ensuring safety and organization.
• Maintain a fair, unprejudiced relationship with participants, ensuring their physical and mental welfare.
• Supervise your group at all times.
• Work closely with the WPS Athletic Director to ensure sessions are safely administered and organized.
• Adhere to school rules as specified in the student handbook.

• Emotional stability.
• Ability and willingness to serve as a role model for students.
• Knowledge of and ability to teach the theory and practice of the sport within the abilities of secondary school-age students.
• Emphasis on team play, obedience to rules, good sportsmanship, and knowledge of the sport.
• Consideration for other sports activities in the school.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other members of the coaching staff and with school administrators.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• Must complete a CORI background check and a fingerprint-based state and national background check.
• Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross or another agency approved by the department of public health (unless a coach with a physical disability).

No benefits. Stipend only.
