Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with fluency in interpreting between ASL and English
- Compliance with state and district requirements for educational interpreters
- National or state interpreting certification (EIPA, RID, or equivalent) preferred
- Experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings is a plus
- Strong communication, professionalism, and adaptability in dynamic environments
- Facilitate effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and educational staff
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and events accurately and in real time
- Support student participation in academic and extracurricular activities
- Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to promote full access to the curriculum
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting situations
