Early Childhood - Grade 8 Elementary School Principal

St. Mary’s Parish Elementary School in Westfield, Massachusetts seeks a faith-filled, committed, energetic, and visionary principal. The leader will communicate and impart the school’s mission to students, families, faculty, benefactors, and friends.

Must be a practicing Catholic committed to Catholic education. The candidate will develop and maintain meaningful relationships with parents and guardians rooted in trust to benefit elementary students. The leader will recruit and retain talented teachers committed to Catholic education.

Deep knowledge of PK‑8 curriculum development, teaching methodologies, and assessments. Highly skilled with written and oral communication, organized, team‑builder, thorough, persistent, and a creative multi‑tasker. The ideal candidate gathers and uses data and technology, is collegial, collaborative, supportive, and has a sense of humor.

• Functional knowledge of student management principles, practices, and techniques.
• Broad knowledge of curriculum across grades.
• Ability to recognize problems, identify causes, and offer resolutions.
• Effective communication in a variety of situations.
• Competency in computer use and word processing.
• Collaborative work with faculty in a supportive way.
• Mentoring of faculty members.
• Work with the Diocese, city, parish council, advisory, and finance councils to foster a learning environment rooted in the Church’s teaching.
• Partnerships with parents to foster enrollment retention and longevity.
• Creative ideas around non‑academic matters including enrollment management, retention, planning, budgets, development, marketing.
• Successfully work within a budget.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
