Salary: The incoming stipend for 3 credits in graduate programming is $5,321.73 – $6,141.27 depending on faculty rank.

General Statement of Duties

The Psychology Department at Westfield State University invites applications for adjunct instructors to teach classes in the new MA Counseling Concentration in Law Enforcement and Mental Health Co‑Response, with courses starting September 2026. Candidates who are also qualified to teach one or more of the following are encouraged to apply:

  • Mental Disorder & Criminal Behavior
  • Mental Health and the Criminal Justice System
  • Rapid Assessment for Mental Health Counseling Co‑Responders
  • Crisis Intervention for Mental Health Counseling Co‑Responders
  • Substance Use Assessment & Intervention
  • Other courses in the MA Counseling program
Job Requirements

Required qualifications include:

  • At minimum, Master’s Degree in Counseling or related field
  • Preference for those with experience or expertise in law enforcement and mental health co‑response, although relevant experience working with forensic populations will be considered
  • Ability to teach one or more of the courses listed in the job responsibilities
  • Teach evening courses in‑person

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or in Criminal Justice
  • ABD will be considered
  • License‑eligible in Massachusetts
  • Experience teaching at the graduate level
