POSITION:
Saturday Academic Support Program Teacher - WHS (1)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to supervise, motivate, and support at-risk students in their personal and academic growth.
REPORTS TO:
Principal or Principal Designee RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of authorized administrators, the Academic Support Program Teacher shall:
Supervise up to 35 students per every Academic Support Program session including the following:
Take attendance Ensure student time is used productively to receive credit for the Academic Support Program session. Log student accomplishments for the session as evidence of productivity Monitor academic progress throughout the session and provide academic support to ensure student achievement. Review yearly attendance with students. Coach students on effectively communicating their needs, goals, and challenges to teachers and other staff members.
Provide support and guidance to students who may be struggling or require additional assistance. Assist in collecting student assignments and accessing student assignments on line. Enforce expected Westfield Technical Academy behavior as outlined in the WHSStudent Handbook. Provide quarterly updates to the school administration on the effectiveness of WHS's Academic Support Program. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Must be available Saturdays from 8:00 - 10:30 a.m. on scheduled Saturday School sessions (approximately 2 times per month) Part-time employment
- Up to 48 hours per year SALARY Stipend- $45 per hour EVALUATION Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield Public School evaluation, observations by WTA Administration, and student feedback. Position Type:
