Project Engineer - Structural

, you will join our Building Services Business Line in our Westfield, MA office, where you’ll play a key role in delivering vital infrastructure projects across the Northeast. • Assist on the structural design of vertical projects, including new buildings, renovations, and additions. Design systems utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, and wood to meet applicable codes, loads, and project requirements.
• Prepare structural drawings, specifications, design reports, and calculation packages using software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and structural analysis tools.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to integrate structural systems with other building components. Ensure constructability, efficiency, and compatibility across disciplines.
• Perform design and documentation in accordance with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, and other relevant building codes and standards.
• Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and performing site visits to verify installation accuracy.
• Assist in the development of project schedules, scope, and budgets. Work closely with project managers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of structural engineering services.
• Guide junior engineers and drafters, providing oversight and mentorship on design approach, software use, and technical documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5–8 years of experience in structural design and analysis.
• Proficiency in structural design software such as ETABS, STAAD, SAP
  2000, or RISA.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI.
• Experience in designing multiple structural materials (e.g., steel, concrete, timber).
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward obtaining licensure.
• Experience with seismic design and performance‑based engineering.
• Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit.
• Knowledge of advanced analysis techniques, including finite element modeling.
• Experience in a variety of project types, including bridges, high‑rises, or industrial facilities.
