Baystate Health is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our experienced Convenient Care team in Westfield, MA. This position may require coverage at other Convenient Care locations in Palmer, Springfield, Longmeadow, and Northampton.

Minimum – Midpoint – Maximum

$17.63 – $22.54 – $29.24

Medical Assistants perform vital signs, patient intake and history, clinical orders, procedures, documentation, and patient discharge. They support patient care within a supportive work environment.

• Full-time, 40 hours a week
• 8:30am-7:00pm weekdays (T/Th/Fri schedule)
• Every other weekend/holiday 7:30am-4:00pm

• High School diploma or GED
• CPR-Basic Life Support of Healthcare Provider required from the American Heart Association

• MAI & MAII – requires graduate of accredited MA program or minimum of 3 years current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting. (Evaluated by hiring manager for level hiring)
• MAIII – requires graduate of accredited MA program with minimum of 3 years’ current medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting OR demonstrated competencies of MA III (evaluated by hiring manager) with minimum 5 years’ current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting
• MAIV – Only through promotional career ladder internally. Minimum of two years as an MAIII at a Baystate Health with demonstrated competencies for promotion to MA IV. Graduate of an accredited MA program and registered/certified by a third-party credential body.

GED or HiSET (Required)

Basic Life Support – American Heart Association. Certified Medical Assistant – Other. Credentialing must be awarded by a third-party credentialing body which can be obtained through:

• Registered through Medical Assistant (ARMA) (Minimum Requirement)
• Registered through American Medical Technologist (AMT) association
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Healthcare Association (NHA)
• American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
• Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
