Healthcare Applications Support Specialist

Pay Range: $27.26hr - $32.26hr Job Overview:
The organization is seeking an experienced professional to provide application and operational support for several hospital-wide systems and ongoing technology initiatives. This individual will serve as a key liaison between hospital operations, application/technical teams, vendors, and end users to ensure applications continue to meet operational needs and that system changes are effectively coordinated, tested, communicated, and implemented. This is not a traditional IT project management or technical systems administration role.

The ideal candidate has experience working with healthcare applications from an operational and end-user perspective and is comfortable coordinating activities across multiple stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities:

Support ongoing application initiatives across hospital systems, including policy management, staff scheduling, incident reporting, and the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Coordinate application upgrades, enhancements, configuration changes, and other system initiatives with hospital stakeholders, application teams, and vendors. Coordinate and support user acceptance testing (UAT), including development of test scenarios, identification of appropriate testers, tracking of results and issues, and follow-through to resolution.

Work directly with hospital staff and subject matter experts to identify workflow challenges, application pain points, and opportunities for process or system improvements. Gather, document, and communicate operational and business requirements to application and technical teams. Evaluate how application changes may affect existing hospital workflows, policies, procedures, reporting, and staff responsibilities. Coordinate implementation readiness activities, including communications, training, SOPs, policies, workflow documentation, and other end-user support materials.

Track application-related issues, decisions, dependencies, and action items and ensure appropriate follow-through across responsible teams. Serve as a knowledgeable resource and super user for key hospital applications, helping staff navigate systems and escalating technical issues when appropriate. Support implementation and stabilization of recently introduced hospital applications. Assist with EHR implementation planning and readiness activities, working with hospital subject matter experts to ensure operational requirements and workflows are identified, documented, and represented throughout the implementation.

Facilitate meetings and working sessions with operational, clinical, administrative, and technical stakeholders as needed. Desired

Experience and Qualifications:

Experience supporting healthcare or hospital applications, implementations, upgrades, or optimization initiatives. Strong understanding of healthcare operations and the relationship between technology, workflows, policies, and end-user practices. Experience coordinating application testing/UAT and implementation readiness activities. Ability to gather and document business requirements, workflows, issues, and process improvement opportunities. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent application initiatives and follow issues through to resolution.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively with frontline staff, clinical and operational leaders, technical teams, vendors, and other stakeholders. Comfortable working independently, identifying gaps or risks, and proactively coordinating the appropriate people to address them. Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate is a hands-on healthcare applications professional who can move comfortably between operations and technology. The candidate does not need to be a developer or systems administrator; rather, the candidate should understand how hospital staff use applications in their daily work and be able to translate operational needs into actionable requirements, coordinate system changes and testing, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure changes are successfully adopted by end users.
