Senior Project Manager

Overview

Bowman has an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our team. The position is based in Boston, MA, Taunton, MA, or Westfield, MA. You will work on a variety of public and private projects, locally and in other states, with broad exposure to roadway and highway design. As a Senior Project Manager at Bowman, you will contribute to four offices across New England and help grow our practice through engaging, innovative solutions.

To execute transportation projects through administration, technical and management techniques, design, and direction to ensure successful completion on time and within budget. Develop sustainable transportation solutions that reduce congestion, preserve open space, support local development, and improve safety for all users.

• Provide oversight and direction for one or more specific business processes or functions.
• Receive broad guidance from senior management on objectives and policy; manage people and processes to ensure effective execution; review staff work for quality assurance.
• Mentor junior staff to support development of future Project and Senior Project Managers.

• Coordinate with internal departments to meet project requirements.
• Support other disciplines with transportation engineering expertise.
• Supervise and monitor client relationship strategies; act as primary client contact on assigned projects and maintain client satisfaction.
• Lead regular project staff meetings.
• Assist with marketing to establish new clients and strengthen relationships.

• Manage projects or transportation tasks, monitor progress for technical accuracy and adherence to schedule and budget.
• Assist with budgeting, staffing, scheduling and client management tasks.
• Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules.
• Define scope of assigned projects and develop plans to accomplish them.
• Monitor deliverable schedules and compile project status reports.
• Provide technical assistance for design problem resolution and quality control across multiple projects.
• Prepare client presentations and attend public meetings.
• Review plans and prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
• Review project changes and other contract-related factors; prepare or review change orders as needed.
• Review job cost sheets, assist with monthly billings/invoices, and ensure projects stay within budget.
• Serve as liaison between clients, agencies, subcontractors, and design teams on project issues including technical requirements and billing inquiries.
• Participate in proposal preparation and lead major submissions on large projects.
• Supervise project staff to meet high professional standards.
• Coordinate and contribute to roadway, traffic and pedestrian signal plans; ITS, maintenance of traffic, signing, and related deliverables.
• Prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
