CNC Programmer

Westaff is Hiring for a CNC Programmer in Westfield, MA!

Shift: Monday – Friday, 7am – 3:30pm

Pay Rate: $34 -$40, depending on experience

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and support CNC programs for precision machining operations. This role works closely with machinists, engineers, and production teams to ensure efficient, high-quality manufacturing of metal and non-metal parts. Our facility operates Fadal and Haas CNC machining centers.

• Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs to support production and prototype machining.

• Interpret blueprints, CAD models, specifications, and work instructions to determine machining strategies.

• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters.

• Support machinists with setup, troubleshooting, and process improvements.

• Verify program accuracy through test runs and part inspections; adjust programs as needed.

• Ensure finished parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.

• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve or process issues.

• Maintain documentation for programs, tooling, and processes.

• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

• Continuously identify opportunities to improve cycle times, quality, and efficiency.

• Proven experience as a CNC Programmer in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and materials.

• Experience programming Fadal and/or Haas machines preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T.

• Proficiency with mathematical concepts including fractions, percentages, ratios, and tolerances.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
