Job Position Summary
Responsible to set up and run parts and be able to inspect their work and if needed make adjustments to produce a quality part.
Minimum Requirements- High School Diploma or Equivalent, Tech School preferred
- 2+ years experience operating a CNC Machine
- Experience in Aerospace industry preferred
- Knowledge of various metals, alloys, and other materials to optimize proper speeds and feeds
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong attention to details
- Organizational skills
- Basic computer skills
- Time management skills
- Ability to use inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators
- Ability to do basic set ups on 3 Axis Machines
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and company operation sheets
- Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally
- Ability to use the Machine Control to set tools and enter offsets into Machine Control
- Ability to work multiple machines of the same function
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends
- Required to pass the Certified Operator Program and maintain certification status
- Ensure adherence to safety regulation and standard. Follow safety culture and wear PPE when required
- Operate multiple complex CNC Milling Machines of the same function
- Perform precision work on parts with complex configurations and close tolerance between interrelated surfaces
- Follow Ops sheets and written or verbal instructions for product specifications
- Operate within AS9100/ISO
9001 requirements including proper documentation, revision control, traceability, and lot control - Observe overall operation and perform regular daily maintenance on equipment and work area
- Verify and visually inspect work and dimensions per operations sheet to specification using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and preset gages
- Fill out production paperwork and inspection procedures as required
- Report any problems or discrepancies to immediate supervisor
- Maintain tools, gages, and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe manner
- Follow 6s procedures and maintain a clean organized work area
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Normal production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts
- May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities
- Must be able to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses
- May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required
- Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time
