Perform a variety of duties to set up and operate sheet metal fabrication equipment to perform stamping and forming operations on a variety of aluminum and steel gauges following standard practices and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
List what the person must perform the job to meet standards:
* Sets up, maintains and operates various sheet metal fabricating machinery, including but not limited to a Punch Press and Louver
* Performs various production duties from Work Orders, Part Prints, Standard Set- up Procedures, Quality and OJT manuals.
* Utilizes and maintains calipers, rules, combination square, protractor, vernier, feeder gauges, hand tools, wrenches, micrometers, hex keys and other similar tools.
* Inspect and prepare supplied products, reports defects/problems to supervision.
* Removes and inspects finished products for compliance to specifications, reports defects to supervision and makes machine adjustments as directed.
* Uses lift and/or platform trucks to move supplied and finished products to various plant locations.
* Maintains required production, safety and other records and data.
* Inspects and reports defective and unsafe machinery/parts to supervision.
* Wears and maintains safety equipment and obeys safety rules, practices and procedures.
* Maintains work area in a neat, orderly and safe manner.
* Performs other similar or related duties as required or requested.
The Residential Products Fabricator must possess the minimum knowledge/abilities as listed below:
* High School graduate preferred.
* Prior manufacturing experience a plus
* Ability to read, write and follow both verbal and written instruction.
* Familiarity with manufacturing machinery, hand and air tools and measuring instruments.
* Ability to operate lift, hand, platform trucks and hoists.
* Capability of lifting 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis
* Ability to lift between 50 & 100 pounds intermittently in a team lift situation.
* Ability to do repetitive lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, stretching, pushing and pulling.
* Previous experience with a Punch Press and/or Louver
