Contract Registered Nurse – Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) | Premium Compensation
Location:
Westfield, MA (On-Site)
Job Type: Full-Time / Contract (36-Hour Night Shift Block)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (With strong potential for extension)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a versatile, compassionate, and clinically focused Registered Nurse (RN) to fulfill a 13-week contract engagement at a Hospital in Westfield, MA. This position provides an exceptional opportunity to practice high-acuity long-term acute care nursing within an 87-bed state-operated hospital.
Operating on a predictable block schedule, you will deliver specialized care across complex, medically fragile patient populations in a supportive, team-oriented state facility.
Compensation Options:- Pay Range: $65.00 – $72.00 per hour (W-2 rate, dependent on clinical experience)
- Contract Structure:
Guaranteed 36 hours/week on a 13-week assignment with extension options
- Shift Availability: 12-Hour Night Shifts only
- Upcoming Orientation Dates:
August 4, 2026 and August 24, 2026 - Week 2:
Unit Shadowing across all 4 units (Tuesday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, vital signs monitoring, and daily care management for medically fragile adult patients
- Perform ventilator/tracheostomy care, G-tube/PEG feedings, long-term medication administration, and electronic health record (EHR) documentation
- Manage specialized care plans across four distinct units:
Respiratory/Tubes, Neuromuscular (including Huntington's disease care), End-of-Life/Palliative Care, and Ambulatory Dementia - Collaborate respectfully and effectively with CNA staff, physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
- Active, unrestricted MA RN License (or actively pursuing MA licensure—status confirmed prior to submission)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Experience with complex, medically fragile patient populations (Required)
- Background in LTAC, respiratory/ventilator care, end-of-life care, or neuromuscular conditions (Strongly Preferred)
- Experience with Huntington's disease or similar neuromuscular conditions (A Plus)
- Clinical flexibility to float seamlessly across all four specialized units
- Team-oriented mindset with a respectful, collaborative approach
- Reachable for a facility phone interview and able to clear a MA state background check (All documents due 10 days prior to orientation)
