Experienced Yard Jockey w​/Class A CDL

Position Overview

C&S Wholesale Grocers is seeking a Yard Jockey holding a Class A CDL license to support our distribution center operations. The role involves driving a jockey wagon to move trailers safely and efficiently around the yard, assisting a Professional Driver Trainer (PDT) during an initial training program, and performing yard tasks that enable timely gate movements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Drive a jockey wagon to move trailers around the distribution center yard.
• Perform yard moves including placing trailers at and pulling them from dock doors, repositioning to proper pads, and delivering to the wash bay.
• Check and log truck and trailer temperatures; use pre‑programmed settings as needed.
• Complete yard inventory and enter data into the yard management system.
• Clean, fuel, and inspect the jockey wagon and trailers.
• Perform additional assigned duties such as store deliveries, stack salvage, propane fueling, and other yard tasks.
• Work the 2nd shift (Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday 12 noon to 12 midnight). No travel is required.
• Maintain a safe driving record; comply with all company policies and DOT regulations.

• Valid Class A CDL and Medical Card.
• 2 to 5years of experience moving trailers up to 53ft. with a jockey wagon.
• Experience driving a tractor‑trailer is preferred.
• Physical ability to climb up to 4ft., lift/pull up to 60lbs., and work in varied temperatures.
• Must pass DOT physical and comply with fall protection training.
• Strong communication skills; ability to read, write, and speak proficiently.
• Authorized to work in the United States or able to obtain such authorization.
